What a great place to start your life with someone… A great honeymoon destination for soulmates!!!

Excellent value for the money in Anguilla! Check-in was quick and efficient. Sherri was a pleasure to speak with and answered all of our questions. First-time visitors may want to opt to stay on the West end of the island (more beaches and restaurants closer to each other) but I love the Shoal Bay East area and did not mind driving over West when needed. The west end has more resorts and “stuff” but remembers for Anguilla that certainly does not mean much. The shoal Bay / East Area is very serene and for some reason just feels more local and homey to me. Our One-bedroom unit was spacious and was a great amount of room for my partner and I. Studio looked a little small so I was glad I went for the one-bedroom especially because we often made our own breakfast and had snacks to curb some of the eating out costs. The walk to the beach is short and Shoal Bay East is truly magnificent. I love Anguilla and will certainly be back and would not hesitate to stay at Fountain.

We have been returning now for 4 trips to Katouche Bay. We love the remoteness of this quiet area. On our first trip, it seemed we saw a morning rainbow half of the trip. Now we experience about 2 from our own balcony. One evening about 8:30, (and it’s dark than in May) I saw a yellow bow out over Sandy Island. It had been raining a little earlier and the moon was almost fully beginning to wane. The only difference was it was only yellow and seemed to last a bit longer than a day rainbow. It was truly awesome but I am regretting that I did not attempt a photo as my earlier night landscape attempts weren’t showing well.Little Anguilla keeps me amazed every time I go there.

The summer of 1999 was my first visit to the beautiful island and the most vivid to date. It would not typically be my ideal vacation location, but prior to my visit, I had met someone from Anguilla (Clive Wallace). He was vacationing in the Virgin Islands (St. John). He shared very interesting stories about the island and made it nearly impossible to imagine a truly untouched paradise. After all, Anguilla was not on the top 10 list of Caribbean vacation destinations at that time.Needless to say, curiosity took over, an invitation was extended and I was in flight and on my way to Anguilla. Immediately upon landing, I fell in “love” with the unspoiled beauty of the island and its people; very warm and very inviting. Everyone that I met made me feel like I was an old friend returning for a visit.Anyway, to make a short story shorter, Clive and I are now proud parents of one very energetic 3-year old son (Damien), and Shawn Webster (Seagrape Boat Tours) is one proud godparent.Anguilla is now my beloved second home and my #1 vacation destination.

Faced with torrential rains and a passing tropical storm yesterday morning, we began answering the question that we often get when our normally sunshiny days are replaced with temporary downpours: what do you do on a rainy day in Anguilla? While the island feels like it’s designed for sunshine with the beaches, boating, and al fresco dining being major draws, it turns out that a bit of rain may present an opportunity to delve into a few experiences that may otherwise sit on the back burner. You can read further to know the 8 things to do on a rainy day in Anguilla.

Anguilla’s silky sands make the island an especially strong choice for families with kids who love sandcastle building and swimming and also for college-age and adult children who crave sleep, sun, and top-rated food. There’s even a range of personalities among the beaches. On Meads, the Blanchards Beach Shack serves jerk chicken and seared tuna sandwiches (plus kid-friendly grilled cheese) to vacationers. At Rendezvous Bay’s Dune Preserve beach bar (owned by local reggae star Bankie Banx), the food’s okay but the live music (certain lunchtimes and evenings) is especially fun. At popular Shoal Bay, kids can snorkel the close-to-shore reef or walk along looking for tiny silvery fish caught in the tide pools.

I traveled to the Caribbean island of Anguilla and had one of the most magical experiences of my life that I’d recommend to anyone. Ah, Anguilla, you have my heart! After a whirlwind four-day trip to this lovely island in the Caribbean, I’m officially a fan. The trip couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve been going through some major life changes the past few months and what I really needed was a couple of days in the sunshine, surrounded by great people, encouraging words, and endless possibilities of how to spend each moment. Whether you’re in need of a girls’ getaway or just hoping to escape city life for a few days, Anguilla doesn’t disappoint. Magic awaits!
