Joe's Big Island Jeep Rental

Big Island Jeep Rental is a local, family-owned and operated rental car agency specializing in custom jeeps. We are a VIP service that helps you plan your vacation to meet your interests, provides you with the Jeep that meets your needs, and stocks the Jeep with all the beach gear and necessities you could need for your vacation! Our Jeeps are not the stock jeeps you get at the corporate companies! All of our jeeps have their unique name tied to something on the Big Island and are customized to match that name. Our goal is to remove the stress so that you simply pick up your personalized Jeep and head for the beach!

Big Island Jeep Rental is owned & operated by a husband and wife team, Joe and Stephanie, who jokingly refer to themselves as “Joephanie” because they make one great team! Stephanie moved to the Big Island in 2016 from Bellingham, Washington, searching for a fresh start in life. Joe did the same a year later and moved from Omaha, Nebraska, in 2017. They met soon after and became instant best friends. During this time, Joe founded Big Island Jeep Rental with the purchase of his very first Jeep! In 2019, Joe took a trip to New Zealand, and as the saying goes, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” After about a week of being in different countries, Joe and Stephanie realized how much they missed each other, and Joe returned to the Big Island early, and they have been “Forever Best Friends” since. Stephanie left her prior job, and they now run the business together full time.

Our guests are not just our customers. They become part of our Jeep Ohana. As Joe always says, “We don’t rent out jeeps, we sell smiles!” From the planning process to your arrival and until your departure, we are here to help guide you in any way we can to help you enjoy everything the Big Island has to offer.
